My Far Away Dream

Homecooked meals for everyone.

Of course the how dos and technical points have alot of holes in this idea...but something I've REALLY wanted to do for a very long time is to be able to start a buisness making home cooked meals as take out.

So many people, mainly kids don't get that food "the way mama or grandma made it" kinda feel, theres kids tv dinners and mcdonalds and pizza hut and golden chick..I am NOT slamming these places...I love to eat at them myself from time to time. People now are using these places as thier main sorce of food for many reasons, number one being time! Too many things to do in a day and alot of added stress trying to figure out "whats for dinner." Believe me  I totally understand. Not only that but alot of folks don't have either/or stove or oven or crock pot or even a microwave. Sometimes its a temporary inconvienence and sometimes its just how they live for whatever reason.

My dream is to open up, at first a Kitchen, a place seperate from my house that I can cook home cooked meals for first friends and people I know, word of mouth. The only catch, food is for take out only. Call ahead, even order for the week and pick it up each day..dinner is done! Just pick it up on your way home and its hot when you get there, no one asking whats for dinner, or if its done yet. I want to cook those family favorites that we all know and love and add a few things that alot of people don't see or have even probably heard of but are still more healthy than a greasy burger, add variety and excitement without overdoing a menu to the point of impossibility.

Later on, added to the kitchen I would like to start my own garden and green house on the property, when I was able to hire help of course. I could have my own fresh fruits and veggies.

And along with this, on down the road I would like to add a soup kitchen type organization. Run mostly on a volunteer basis helping homeless people and families, local children, the needy, and the elderly and shut ins. Which I know meals on wheels is awesome but it never hurts to throw out another helping hand.

It may never happen, but for now I'll work at a grocery store, surrounded by food I can do nothing with, and share recipes and tips on the easiest ways to do homecooked meals.  I really enjoy my job but want to strive for so much more. I want to help others, not just receive a pay check. I want to glorify God in all that I do. Still putting the thought on how to add some kind of subtle ministry into the works. If God wills it so it shall be.

I would like a buisness that I can share with my family, to teach my children the joy of cooking, helping and serving other, to have something my amazing husband and I can do together.

It would be a huge accomplishment to me to have a positive impact on my community and something of a legacy to pass down to my two awesome children.
